Biography
Christina has served in college admissions for 14 years. She attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts and majored in Drama and later received her M.Ed. from NYU Steinhart in Higher Education Administration. After graduating she worked in television and film casting and realized she enjoyed working with students. Her first admissions job was at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Later she moved back to her alma mater, NYU, to work in undergraduate admissions. During her time at NYU, she read for the Stern School of Business and managed the admissions process for Tisch School of the Arts. She joined Barnard’s admissions team in 2014 as the Associate Director for Multicultural Recruitment. During her career in higher education, she has served as an Executive Board Member for New York State Association of College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC) and Co-Chair of the Association of Black Admissions and Financial Aid Officers of the Ivy League and Sister Schools (ABAFAOILSS). As an advocate for access and equity within higher education, she currently serves on the board of Go To College NYC and Minds Matter, two Community-Based Organizations in NYC that serve under-resourced students as they navigate the college process.

Fun Facts
Why did you choose to work at Barnard?
After attending and working at a large co-ed university for several years, I was excited to come to a women’s college. I was eager to be surrounded by other women in administrative positions who were excited to mentor students and each other. I’ve grown personally and professionally because of the relationships I have built over the years at Barnard. It’s an empowering place, not only for the students but for all who work here as well.
What is your favorite book?
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
What is your favorite thing to do in NYC?
I love to eat! There are so many ways to experience dining in NYC. I have favorite restaurants and street carts! And I LOVE a street fair in the summer!
What is your favorite place on campus?
I love sitting in the Quad. It’s so peaceful and serene.
What is a random fun fact about yourself?
I love cooking and hosting dinner parties.
