Postdoctoral Scholars
Under the leadership of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty, Barnard is committed to offering its postdoctoral scholars guidance and resources that will advance their professional training and development. This support is managed by the Vice Provost of Research in partnership with the Associate Provost for International Initiatives and the Vice President for Inclusion and Engaged Learning.
Barnard is a unique environment: it sees undergraduates’ engagement with research as a key part of a liberal arts education, but it also offers access to the research-intensive community of Columbia University. The postdoctoral program is intended to support postdoctoral scholars’ long-term career development by helping them pursue their research programs and engage in the teaching and mentoring opportunities available in the liberal arts environment of Barnard College. We also work with counterparts across Columbia University to offer scholars access to opportunities there.
